If you are lucky enough to visit Orlando, Florida and have a chance to stop in at the Orange County Public Library main branch in Orlando, you must do it! In particular, ask for a tour of the Melrose Technology Center. A recent $2million donation to the library has resulted in a truly state of the art learning, crafting, and information space. I was astounded to see everything from classroom space, to flight and driving simulators, to sound booths and recording studios, to a green room, a lab/maker space with 3D printers, Silhouette cutter, and raspberry pi's, as well as computer stations for editing video, audio, graphics and so much more. They even have meeting space with a wall-sized video display made up of touch screen monitors. All of this is essentially free for the public to use. They only require patrons to attend training sessions to make sure they know how to use this equipment. Congratulations to everyone who made this project happen. I am in awe from far away...
