CCLR 2014

I just returned from the Canadian Congress on Leisure Research. What a great opportunity to meet interesting people with interesting research! A highlight for me was the welcome session where Elder Christmas gave the conference an Aboriginal blessing. He used sweetgrass as an example of caring for body, mind and soul. I also enjoyed visiting the Pier 21 museum, where they have an ongoing 'Peace' project. Guests are invited to use 6" squares of paper to illustrate what peace means to them. The squares are posted in a quilt-like fashion on the whiteboard for everyone to see. It reminds me of Jenna Hartel's i-squares project!
